About

All the versions of this article: [Deutsch] [English] [français] [italiano]

The New Federalist has been the paper magazine of the Young European Federalists (JEF-Europe) for many years. In light of going green we made a switch in 2006 and focused on an electronic version. Occasionally we publish special editions of the TNF. This website is its online version known as thenewfederalist.eu, published in with the other three language versions of JEF’s online magazines.

If you want to become an active contributor of TNF be it as an author, translator or editor don’t hesitate to contact us at tnf@jef.eu.

JEF is a supranational, politically pluralist youth NGO with about 30,000 members in over 30 European countries. The goal of JEF is the creation of a democratic European federation as a crucial ingredient for peace and a guarantee for a more free, just and democratic society. JEF fosters true European Citizenship, works for the widening and deepening of the EU and aims at bringing Europe closer to the citizens. Our ideas are spread through international activities and youth exchanges, publications, public actions and co-operation with other youth organisations.

Editorial board

Every language section of this website has a different editorial board. For the English version, thenewfederalist.eu, the Editorial board is as follows:

- Director: Pauline Gessant (president@jef.eu)

- Assistant Editor-in-Chief: Stylia Kampani (stylia.kampani@gmail.com)

The Assistant Editor-in-Chief supports the regular publication of articles and helps coordinate the achievement of the Editorial Board’s key objectives, such as developing our network of contributors within and outside the JEF community.

- Universities Network Officer: Alexandre Pirson

The Universities Network Officer is in charge of developing the visibility of TNF in key universities in the United Kingdom and elsewhere in Europe, with the ultimate aim of increasing our pool of contributors and reporting on key issues that are debated in such universities.

- Current Affairs Editor: Osmi Anannya

The Current Affairs Editor produces regular notes on recent developments in order to ensure that the Editorial Board covers all important issues in the calls for articles.

- JEF Relationships Officer : Cedric Fernandez Alonso

The main task of the JEF Relationships Officer is to extend and maintain TNF’s relationships with the local and national sections of the Young European Federalists (JEF) across Europe. S/he ensures a wide diffusion of the calls for articles and a strong level of geographic diversity within our network.

- Translations Officer : TBD

The Translations Officer screens other linguistic versions of TNF in order to suggest relevant articles worth translating and publishing on the English version of TNF.
